About Us/Opening Times
The Stables Inn has been welcoming travellers & guests for over 330 years. The pub is an original Drovers' Inn built specifically to cater for the needs of farmers driving to market from Wales, over Stapeley Hill (keeping the famous Callow Hill in sight) down past the pub and on towards Shrewsbury market. The pub still has many farmers as customers but you're more likely to see a 4x4 or a tractor in the car park than a herd of sheep or cows - although we do have a few escapees from time to time!
We are dog friendly and have our very own Stables Bulldach puppy, who will be more than happy to greet you at the door. Well behaved dogs, same rule for humans, are very welcome in the bar but we ask that you keep them on a lead especially during food times.
We are open for great food & drink every week night from 5pm. On the weekends we open from 12 noon and remain open throughout the day, food is served all day Saturday and until 4pm on a Sunday. Please note: Due to new Government restrictions our opening times will differ - please call ahead before your visit.
We currently aren't open week day lunchtimes. If you specifically require a lunchtime visit, please do give us a call and we will endeavor to open for you.
You might like to gather a group of 8 or more friends together (restrictions/rules depending) for a weekday lunchtime walk. We have our own walk featured in the "Walking with Offa" series of walks also available at the pub. If you ring and book we will open especially for your group and prepare a hearty lunch on your return.
