There is room at the Inn..

We now offer a chance to stay at the Stables Inn.  In the 18th & 19th Century this original drovers’ inn was licensed for 11 beds.  In 2012, we completely renovated the sleeping accommodation and now offer one of the luxury double bedrooms. Once you go through your private original 17th century doorway you will be greeted with a wealth of old original oak beams, low doorways and local stone walls.    The room has an en-suite bathroom with a shower to help you, either, wake up and enjoy your day sightseeing or walking or relax after a hard slog around the Shropshire hills, speaking of which, you will have a lovely view of the Stiperstones hills from the bathroom and also views of the Shropshire Hills area of Outstanding Natural Beauty countryside and towards Wales, from your bedroom!

  • The room is double glazed and centrally heated.  It has a Queen size bed, a luxurious memory foam mattress, a goose down duvet and plenty of comfy pillows for a great nights sleep.

  • Don’t pack any towels; we have plenty here waiting for you, same goes for a hairdryer, iron & ironing board, on request.

  • Tea and coffee facilities are available in your room.

  • Breakfast is usually from 9am. It’s your time away from the rat race so indulge yourselves!  Please book in advance.

This is a chance to stay in a real pub, with real people who enjoy a quiet drink, great food with good company around a roaring log fire. From upstairs, in the early evening you may hear the sound of laughter, good conversation, the best way to lamb a sheep, the price of cattle feed or the shuffle of a domino or two and it has been like that here for over 340 years and we wouldn’t change it for the world.

The Main Stag Room

Has beautiful views over Long Mountain, the Welsh countryside and the Cheshire plains to the north. This oak beamed room is tastefully decorated and boasts a queensize bed and memory foam mattress to ensure a great night’ sleep after a days walking, sightseeing or shopping. The fact that you may have tried our great homemade food and a pint or two of our real ales from award winning local breweries may help too.... If it’s a lazy morning you are after, the reclaimed oak shutters on the windows will keep out the early morning sun until you are ready for your breakfast.

Price: £130 per night including breakfast. (Rates will be higher on some weekends, holidays and bank holidays). £110 for room only.

Feel free to bring your four legged friends! (A dog charge of £15 is added to your booking to cover cleaning costs). We are completely dog friendly throughout the pub and they can join you for your evening meal. We just ask you to bring a dog bed and do not let your beloved pet on the bed or furniture in respect of future guests.
